Battle of Gnila Lipa 1914

This battle took place in the Ukraine and involved Russians versus Austro-Hungarians. A full range of photos and an After Action Report are here:

Once again I used Hexon terrain covered with heavy felt battle mats to provide an accurate layout. Each layer of Hexons represented a 20 m contour. This photo shows the effect at 'ground level'. The ground rises gently either side of the river and its tributaries:
