HAMMERHEAD LORD OF THE RINGS GAME

So after picking up my latest 10mm order of figures from Paul and Sally and having a quick chat about next years Hammerhead 2017 show I have committed myself to putting on a Hordes and Heroes epic of The Siege of Minas Tirith and the Battle of The Pelennor Fields!

I will be using the Hordes and Heroes Medieval Fantasy Rules but as I have only ever played one game of this, being primarily a painter and not a gamer , we thought it would be a good idea to get some other people involved on the day to take control of the troops.

It's a project I have had on the back burner for a year or two so having 3 months to paint up all the remaining hordes in time for the show should motivate me to finish it! I will post up pics of my progress as I finish the various units.

After much searching I've found suitable figures to represent the half trolls of Far Harad from copplestones 15mm Barbican range

a few more pics of the armies, giants, trolls and orc archers.........I know there isn't mention of giants as such in the battle of Pelennor but I love these old Citadel giants so much I just had to use them , and they really do look like giants next to 10mm figures!

Cheers Dane, I have 5 of these mumakil painted up for the battle, all slightly different in pose, I wanted something truly massive and so didn't use the usual 10mm or 15mm stuff out there, they look like they will take some stopping! and I won't be introducing the army of undead as seen in the film version, I will be sticking to the book
