In late August 1914, a series of engagements took place in the vicinity of Krasnik, a town in southern Poland. The Russian and Austro-Hungarian armies were locked in battle for several days. My sons and I reproduced the 7th engagement in the Battle of Krasnik at the SELWG Show in London recently. Once again we were able to reproduce the topography exactly using Kallistra Hexon terrain. The rules were Great War Spearhead, with the scenario that we played featuring in the upcoming release of an Eastern Front supplement entitled 'Summer Harvest'. Details of the day out, along with several photos, can be found here.

Wow - a show stopper. Sounds like a game that was lovingly put together.

Thank you both for the feedback. Norm, you are right. Our goal is to demonstrate something of the scale of WW1 battles. The Hexon Terrain is an important part of this, enabling the topography to be mirrored exactly. It helps get away from a large flat table.
