New setup
New setup
Greetings, as age has taken hold of my ability to get up and down from our huge floor area, my oppo and I have moved to a table top wargame, and from 200mm x 200mm squares to Kallistra hexons.
I will post some pics as we go along, building up our surface with Kallistra stock items as well as bespoke stuff.
Here is the table finished except for the edging strip that will keep the hexon boards tight together.
It is 4.2m x 2.4m. We had to jiggle the dimensions a little to ensure we could reach the middle
The two models in one of the pics will give you some idea of size. The nearest is a long wheelbase Mercedes, the furthest is a Wolf, the marriage of a Panther hull and Panzer IV turret, both in 20mm scale.
We pick up ten boxes of hexon at newbury next week

Amazing. Look forward to seeing what 10 boxes of tiles look like
Re: New setup
My oppo picked up ten boxes of flocked, and three boxes of unflocked, from colours at Newbury. Hot from there, the hexon arrived today. We finished the table, putting a lip on to frame the hexon boards. We had six boxes of three colour and four boxes of triple seven. Once they were in place, a large tenon saw savaged nineteen hexon boards into unrecognisable pieces, as we cut half and fractional hexes, in order to fill in the whole frame so that it holds in place. I won't show the residue for fear that Paul and Sally would get upset! The table frame, not including part hexed, is 24 hexons long by 12 deep. We mixed single and double tone in randomly. Now that we have the whole table covered, we will create some hex conversions as we go along. My priority is to get the next book out, but we will post some images of our battles as we go along. Thanks to sally and Paul for their forbearance during the buying process Enjoy the view, folks.
