Using Kallistra to model a Motte

Post by wargamer1979 »

Hi folks,

Has anybody ever used double thickness, single hex sloping Kallistra pieces to form a Motte? If you did this, did you find them sufficiently steep? Did you also have a bailey and inside keep on the top etc?

If double are not considered steep enough - is it possible for Kallistra to manufacture slopes that are 1:3 or 1:4 possibly?

Please add a post if you have any views on creating Mottes with Kallistra.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Best wishes

Hi,
I have constructed a few castles and fortifications which are variations on the 'Motte and Bailey' theme for different game scenarios. The double hight slopes have been used on a couple of these to good effect. These slopes although quite steep do enable figure stands to be placed on them without toppling or sliding when using anti-slip base backing. It would be difficult to accommodate stands of miniatures on steeper slope gradients without some form of stepping.

I am sure that I will have photos of the examples mentioned above - I will undertake a search of our digital photo library and post them when they are located - I think I'll need Sally's help with this mission because she is the 'librarian'!
Kind regards
Paul
