Re: What size building to us for built up areas 6mm or 10/12mm

Hi I initially also used 10mm scale buildings for games, but soon switched to 6mm. They look fine on the table, and, as you say, they allow more stands to be placed in the hex. As for numbers of stands in a town hex, this remains the same as anywhere else on the battlefield. 1 unit per hex, usually ...

Re: Few questions about our first (epic) games

Hi, 1 The general movement phase is before the troop movement. The general can join a unit and move with them during the troop movement phase, but cannot be picked up by a unit during the troop movement phase and move with them. 2 Not sure about this one, not used them. I assume the hard target rule...

Re: Unit facing change

You are correct about the free change of facing. If you wish to rotate a unit further than the free allowance, then it costs a movement point. Remember also missile troops, artillery, etc can turn for free to enable shooting. Infantry, and only infantry, can also move one hex sideways or backwards. ...

Re: ACW/AWI Hex rules

I've been asking the same question since 2016, and always held on as it was always apparently nearly finished. I really like the system, have posted battle reports and followed the forum closely, but became frustrated with the wait. Haven't played for nearly 2 years, moved on to other projects now, ...

Re: Min/max percentages

Hi Paul posted about this a few years ago- just search percentages in the "Kallistra's hex based rules" part of the forum. Here's how he explained it then: "The percentages for minimum and maximum refer to the total number of units including command units. For example, an army of 20 u...

Re: More H&H Medieval queries

Many thanks for the clarification.
Is this new way of treating cavalry in difficult terrain part of the updated rules we are eagerly awaiting the release of?

Re: More H&H Medieval queries

Hi Read the response for cavalry and broken ground with interest. We've always played it that cavalry really do need to operate in open ground to be effective. The rules seem to reinforce this, with cavalry being counted as disrupted when fighting in difficult terrain (woods, broken ground, etc) or ...

Re: Follow up

Thanks for the update. Looking forward to the updates, especially tweaks to army lists. Are there any new armies in either the medieval or fantasy lists?

Re: Follow up

Thanks for the reply. We have always played the follow up when destroying an enemy, although we had a go at a game without doing this- it led to some very interesting results. but the negatives certainly outweighed the positives, The A class troops not having to follow up is a new one (unless I miss...
