My present project is to create a forest using at least 30 three-tone hexon boards. I decided to use the dark green patches to place the trees in, and thus create random areas. of course, the final product will greatly depend how the boards are set out together.
I didn't buy enough European style trees, so the 13 boards in the end photo consumed most of my stock, leaving me probably with enough for no more than another six boards at the moment.
fortunately, I will be able to stack them individually.
They are easy to modify for sure, just time consuming, but well worth the effort, although the idea wont be for everyone [space, money, time, versatility et al]
No pictures of a set up as yet as there is a battle in progress on our table, but I will once I get t o set it all up anew.

I like the multi tone boards. I have started to get high ground in lilting tone so that the raised ground looks more obvious in photographs when set against my two tone boards.
