Hi Gabz

Yes, 2 cannon batteries are fine because you have 12 units including command and they represent less than 20% of the units in the army.

Try it, I think it will work well as a solo game, as least as well as solo chess, but with vastly more variation due to the range of different armies that can be used and the addition of the chance factor.
